Reflexology Massage

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive therapy that is well established and respected in the field of complementary medicine. It is also increasingly being used alongside conventional medicine now.

footWhat it is

Reflexology is believed to activate the body’s reflexes. Commonly, treatment is applied as “massage” to the reflexes of the feet using a number of specific and skilled manipulations.

This technique aims to stimulate the nerve endings in the feet and thereby send signals along the nerve pathways in the body to the central nervous system where they are processed and filtered to the corresponding parts of the body,
or organs.

Reflexology also aims to restore the free flow of ”energy circulation” within and around the body. This realigns the mind, body, and spirit into a state of wellbeing and harmony by activating the body’s own healing processes.

How a session works

My training, experience, and intuitive perception enable me to identify those parts of the client’s feet / body that need the most balancing.

I then perform a skilled treatment to the feet so that all the organs, glands, and systems of the body are covered, including those related to hormones and reproduction.

Most importantly, I use my intuitive skills to tune into my client as a whole. This allows me to blend the most effective reflexology techniques with other complementary treatments that I am trained in, to best suit what is needed to stimulate the client’s own healing processes.

Fertility Reflexology during conventional (i.e. IVF and ICSI) and/or homeopathic clinical fertility treatment

Starting any programme to obtain a baby has a physical impact on the body, and often the herbs or drugs used send you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Many clients come for Fertility Reflexology to help support them through this physically- and emotionally-heightened time.

foot massageEnduring the longing for a baby and trying anything possible to improve your odds can be very stressful for both parties in a relationship, and may sometimes put you and your relationship under great pressure.

In these cases, my combinational sessions of fertility massage and reflexology aim to support, relax, and keep you mentally and physically in tune with your body. The combination of conventional fertility drug treatments with fertility massage / reflexology sessions has personally assisted my husband and me in obtaining our very own miracle babe! I know it works.

Please always check with your fertility clinic / consultant that they are happy for you to have reflexology during their treatments.

I have yet to have a doctor decline a client from using my treatments to assist them. Most importantly, please note that I do not offer a medical treatment, or a substitute for any form of medical treatment for infertility. I do not diagnose or treat specific conditions.

Further reading on Reflexology

Reflexologists in general, regard the feet as a mirror of the human body. Different parts of the feet correspond to different organs, glands, and other key areas.

The reflexologist feels the client’s feet with their fingers and thumbs; this is usually a pleasant sensation for the client. Skilled reflexologists believe they can intuitively sense energy blockages and tensions in the reflex arc. Though it sometimes leads to the discovery of tender areas, the tenderness in turn signifies the need for further reflex work. The Reflexologist then applies gentle but firm pressure with fingers and thumbs (or working tool) to ease areas of tension and alleviate congestion.

Clinical experience with reflexology shows us that the effects are felt not only on the foot, but most importantly in the corresponding major body organ. In this way, Reflexologists consider that the foot may be used to remotely activate healing processes in other vital bodily organs, re-balancing the systems of the body.

As in any other area of therapy, there is a range of theories and schools of thought about how the stimulation actually works on the nervous system, thus affecting the organs and other systems within the body.
